A 16-year-old boy said to be linked to the death of 17-year-old Mississauga teen Kiran Nijjar died Sunday September 18. The boy, Akash Wadhwa, fell from an overpass on Highway 401 at Mavis Road Friday morning, just a few hours before Nijjar’s body was found. Police have confirmed the two incidents are connected, and said they planned on charging the boy in connection with Nijjar’s death. Meanwhile, grieving loved ones gathered Sunday at a vigil for Nijjar. The group gathered at a parkette on Spinnaker Circle, where the teen’s body was found. “She was always smiling, always with her friends, happy. Never upset. Very nice girl,” said a friend of Nijjar’s, Tyricia Serra.
Investigators haven’t said how Nijjar died.
Both Kiran’s and Akash’s family and friends have planned separate candle light
vigils.
